2016-2017 Parent & Family Advisory Council Scholarship Application

Please read and follow all instructions to ensure that your application is complete and will be considered.

1. Read the entire application.
2. Completed scholarship applications must be submitted on Wednesday, March 23, 2016. No applications will be accepted after 5:00pm on March 23, 2016. In order for your application to be considered complete, the following information must be submitted and your recommendation letters must have been received.
3. Fill out all information requested.

The Parent & Family Advisory Council (PFAC) Scholarship was established in 2007 by the PFAC and donors to the Spartan Families Fund. The mission of the Parent & Family Advisory Council is to strengthen the quality of the UNCG educational experience by promoting communication, inspiring good will and support for the University, and enhancing high quality programs and educational opportunities for students. The scholarship recognizes students who have made contributions while at UNCG to foster good will and support for the University. Two awards will be given in the amount of $750.00 and applied toward the 2016-2017 academic year. This scholarship is administered annually by the Dean of Students Office.

Scholarship Requirements

1. Must be an undergraduate student in good academic standing.
2. Must not have violated the Universitys Student Code of Conduct or Academic Integrity Policy.
3. Must have at least one family member who is a member of the Spartan Family Network.
4. Applicant must demonstrate participation in activities while at UNCG that have inspired good will and support for the University.
5. Applicant must have two letters of recommendation from community members.

Part 2: Essay

In a brief essay, no more than 1,000 words, please describe contributions you have made (while a student at UNCG) that have inspired good will and support for the University. You may include both on and off-campus activities or organizations.

It is highly recommended that you save a copy of your essay on your computer in the event that you experience technical difficulties or your computer times out.

Part 3: Community Recommendation Letters

As a part of your application, submit two recommendation letters from community members who can speak to what you have done to cultivate good will and support for the University. It is required that one recommendation letter be completed by a UNCG faculty or staff member. The second recommendation letter can be completed by a UNCG faculty or staff member or someone from the larger Greensboro community. Students may submit their recommendation letters either in person to the Dean of Students Office in a sealed envelope or students can have the community member directly e-mail the recommendation letter todeanofstudentsoffice@uncg.edu. Students should note that e-mail submissions not made by the community member directly will not be accepted. Recommendation letters must be received no later than 5:00pm on Wednesday, March 23, 2016.
